Maui Itinerary
In October 2023, a friend of mine from college decided to have a destination wedding in Maui. We, of course, had to go - no questions asked.
Here’s what we did! Vlog + Itinerary below :)
What to Know About Our Trip:
We stayed in Maui from October 25th - October 31st; absolutely no complaints about the weather it was perfect
We rented a Jeep Wrangler for the week and it made our life so much easier to explore the island and we only filled up gas when we returned the car!
We opted to stay in an Airbnb since we would be exploring the island and wanted to not just stay on a resort (+ oodles cheaper than a lot of hotels)
Since we were there for a wedding we did have a few obligations that made us have a very strict timeline of waking up and hitting everything we wanted. There were still a few items that we missed out on partly due to jet lag and partly due to just not enough time. I think if we didn’t have the wedding activities we could’ve done everything.
Day 1: Touchdown in Maui
Sushi dinner at Isana’s
hands down one of the best spots we’ve been to and one of the best meals of the trip
Early night to beat jetlag lol
Day 2: Time to Explore
Breakfast at Cafe la Plage
Drive down S Kihei Rd to see the Maui views
La Perouse Bay, mini hike on The Hoapili Trail
Swim at the Secret Cove in South Maui
Lunch at Lava Rock Bar & Grill
Ma’alaea Sunset Sailboat (stunning!!!)
Dinner at OAO for sushi
Day 3: Welcome Brunch + Luau
Wedding Welcome Brunch
Luau at Wailea Beach Resort - Marriot
Day 4: Wedding Day!
Road to Hana: Aunty Sandy’s, Keanae Lookout, Garden of Eden, Twin Falls
we only had time to do half of the Road to Hana, so we missed out on all of the sights, but we did the first half and it didn’t disappoint.
Make sure you stop at Aunty Sandy’s for the banana bread I promise you, you won’t regret it
Day 5: More exploring
Morning at the beach
Lunch at 808 Plates for Hawaiian BBQ
Watch the sunset at the Haleakala Crater
most people watch the sunrise but it didn’t work for our schedule - either way, it was breathtaking
Dinner & drink at Maui Brewing Co.
To be honest, I would’ve been fine skipping this! They’re famous for their beer but it felt like I was at any old brewery, not so much Hawaiian.
Day 6: Heading Home
Breakfast on the beach
